A Note from the Executive Director

Saúl Alarcón Farfán - Executive Director
On November 3rd, Terra supporters, artists, scientists and members of indigenous communities from San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tijuana and Tecate celebrated the opening of Terra’s new home in downtown Ensenada. This official ceremony was the culmination of several months of fundraising, planning and intense work to make this center a reality.  The goal of Terra Peninsular’s community center and gallery is to become a place where the local residents and visitors learn about the extraordinary natural landscapes and biological diversity of Baja California.

This community center is the result of a vision that a few passionate people had ten years ago about the conservation of our natural capital when they founded Terra Peninsular A.C.  They envisioned an organization with strong ties to the local communities that could propose alternatives to destructive unsustainable projects in the region.  Our community center is another step towards achieving this vision.

Our community center and gallery will permanently display the art work of Alan Harper, one of the best photographers of Baja California landscapes and it will host temporary exhibits of national and international artists during the year. In addition, Terra Peninsular will organize a speaker’s series with some of the main experts in the subject of conservation and sustainable development.

Terra Peninsular hopes you can join us in this new, exciting endeavor.
