Featured Exhibit – January 2012: Adobe Guadalupe Equine Therapy Program

To kick-off our 2012 Community Center and Gallery Exhibits – Terra is proud to feature the first guest exhibit by Adobe Guadalupe Vineyard and Inn featuring their Equine Therapy Program Exhibition.   Thanks to Marci Plopper, Adobe Guadalupe, this exhibit will feature photographs of the Vineyard’s renowned “Raza Azteca” horses, the official horse of Mexico, and used in  Adobe Guadalupe’s equine therapy program for the mentally challenged, certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH).
Adobe Guadalupe's Raza Azteca
Most California and Baja California wine lovers know Adobe Guadalupe Vineyards for the exquisite architecture and décor of its hotel and magnificent wine, but few know about Adobe Guadalupe’s equine therapy program. Adobe Guadalupe has several gorgeous trained “Raza Azteca” horses, and along with other horses, take guests to horseback riding tours through the Valle de Guadalupe Vineyards.  These horses are also part of the equine therapy program for mentally challenged children.
Amazing Equine Structure at Adobe Guadalupe
Research has found that the horse constitution and contour, the rhythmic movements of its gait and the their body temperature help mentally challenged children develop motor, sensory, communication and cognitive skills.  Some have observed it builds their self-confidence and puts smiles on their faces.

Thanks to Marci Plopper and Adobe Guadalupe Vineyards and Inn for providing this most important service for our community.  We are both excited and honored to have your exhibit at Terra Peninsular’s Community Center and Gallery.
